What is CBD?

CBD or Cannabidiol is one of more than 100 different Cannabinoids present in high amounts specifically in the Hemp that we use here in Colorado. Another Cannabinoid that you may have heard of is THC that is present in the Cannabis (Marijuana) plant.

Unlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive and will not produce the “High” often associated with the Cannabis (Marijuana) plant.

Both of these cannabinoids are the reason for latest discovery of a vital system in our bodies called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS).

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is made of cannabinoids that are produced naturally in our bodies (endocannabinoids) its receptors (CB1 and CB2) and a variety of metabolic enzymes.

THC and CBD are phytocannabinoids that are found in cannabis and have been found to interact directly and indirectly with the endocannabinoid receptors found in our endocannabinoid system.
